- Vent temperature Check (see if there is an air flow problem or off balance)
- Check the filter
- Test the capacitor
- Inspect the contactor
- Inspect the fan motor
- Check amp draw to compressor (Why is it high? air flow problem? duct work problem? better to replace it now to save the fan motor? hard start recommendation?
- Check amp draw to fan motor
- Check refrigerant pressures
- Clean the condensor coil
- Clean out the drain line
- Clean out any debris inside the condensor
- Inspect the plenum
- Open up the air handler
- Inspect the wiring
- Test the heat kit
- Check the amp draw to the blower motor
- Test the blower motor capacitor
- Clean the evaporator coil
- Test the float switch
- Inspect the thermostat
- Inspect the duct work and vents to ensure there is nothing growing inside.
